As "Halloween" approaches, many, earlier captured by the "fun and costumes," now have awakened to see it as a pagan-based, wikka/druid exercise deeply opposed to the WAY of Yeshua the Messiah/ Jesus the Christ. In a similar way, many are awakening to our own personal issues that now need to be seen in God's Light.
We've just completed our second "Flip Your Focus" -- part of His Way, His GIFT of repentance, to renew our minds and hearts to focus now and eternally on Him. As with last week, it was live-streamed to our You Tube channel, National Day of Repentance. During the typically 30 minute Flip Your Focus livestream there is private time for each participant to check with the indwelling Holy Spirit to see if a particular old sin pattern has been completely removed. God willing, we'll hold, in addition to our other repentance activities, a Flip Your Focus call each Wednesday. You're each invited!
The Bridegroom is coming soon. He has already created a Bride (Ephesians 5:27). To be ready as His Bride we each have to cleanse. Repentance and Romans 12: 1,2 is central to this process: " Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship. And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you]." (Romans 12:1,2 amplified).
Today the Flip Your Focus issue was on removing offenses by forgiving others. The question was: "Are you still offended? OR have you mended?" We used Matthew 6:14,15: " For if you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."
May you take time now with your indwelling Holy Spirit and look once again at being offended. Have you released that? Have you forgiven that offense? To forgive is to grow spiritually, moving increasingly on His narrow path to be like Yeshua/ Jesus, flipping your focus forever to Him. On the cross, hideously offended, bloodied, multilated, hammered with spikes, tortured, He was able to say: “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” (Luke 23:34).
