Before writing this column, I presented a webinar to ACT Pharmacy Collaborative. In my power point presentation, I provided information to show how DIR fees have increased substantially each year over the past three years.  In fact, between 2010 and 2020, CMS reported that retroactive DIR fees increased by a staggering 107,400%.... Community pharmacy owners, Mike and Chris Schweitzer, of Bedford Drug in Bedford, Iowa are leading the way to address Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) in their local community. All across the country the impact Community Healthcare Workers (CHWs) in the community pharmacy practice setting has been significant. Their effectiveness includes improving health outcomes, reducing healthcare costs, and bridging the gap in health disparities.
