From Burnout to Brilliance |

With ever-changing coronavirus guidelines, on-edge patients peppering the overworked staff with questions, and more phone lines ringing than bodies to answer them, burnout has peaked in community pharmacies throughout the country. However, Dana Sadowski, PharmD, believed that community-based pharmacy practice could (and should) be different. She was brought to ClearSpring Pharmacy to spearhead its practice transformation effort. Change Packages & Best Practices
The Flip the Pharmacy Coordinating Center has created multiple, monthly change packages.

During the month of October 2021, Flip the Pharmacy workflow innovations are focused on getting back to the basics.
For Flip the Pharmacy Cohort 2 Pharmacies going into their second year of participation, focus on enrolling more patients into medication synchronization during October.
- Even though this Change Package is mostly focused on the new Cohort 3 pharmacies, utilize the patient encounter documentation form linked on page six in Step Four to begin identifying and documenting new patients in medication synchronization (Med Sync).
For Flip the Pharmacy Cohort 3 Pharmacies just starting out, focus on submitting a test eCare Plan and enrolling patients into medication synchronization (Med Sync).
Intentions of this Change Package:
- Help ease into the Flip the Pharmacy initiative by understanding what it is, your role, and your Practice Transformation Coach’s role
- Understand what resources are available to you as a participating CPESN pharmacy undergoing practice transformation
- Provide understanding of how to document the care provided through the eCare Plan
