Flip the Pharmacy—Is it Working?
Now that we have completed a full two years of progressions, change packages, and coaching for our Cohort 1 pharmacies and finishing year one for Cohort 2, it is natural for one to ask if Flip the Pharmacy is working. Based on our data of e-care plans submitted, my answer to that question is unequivocally—YES! As we are all aware, the Flip the Pharmacy Coordinating Center had to make several timely adjustments in the progressions due to either market pressures (Opioids) or to the pandemic (Immunizations). Flip the Pharmacy Cohort 3 Teams Announced
The Community Pharmacy Foundation announced the 15 awardee Practice Transformation Teams chosen to participate in the third round (Cohort 3: October 2021 – September 2023) of the Flip the Pharmacy program. These new teams will join the existing teams from Cohort 1 and Cohort 2 and 300 more participating pharmacies, pushing the total number of pharmacies actively engaged in practice transformation to over 1,000.

The Flip the Pharmacy Coordinating Center has created multiple, monthly change packages.

If you are participating in Flip the Pharmacy Cohort 1 or Cohort 2, then this is your Month 6 Change Package on Diabetes and Social Determinants of Health.
With this month's Change Package, we are going to focus on this workflow innovation:

Evaluate and implement opportunities to generate revenue related to diabetes services and develop a plan for workflow implementation.
During the course of this progression, we have been focusing on our patients with diabetes and addressing social determinants of health with the goal of medication optimization. We have implemented several workflow innovations to help create processes in the pharmacy to ensure our efforts are sustainable. This month we will focus on putting it all together to take advantage of payer opportunities and new revenue streams.
