A few weeks ago, an LA Times article was socialized on LinkedIn titled: California pharmacies are making millions of mistakes. They’re fighting to keep that secret. The article described the mistakes being made in community pharmacies in California. After reading the article, I came to the conclusion that there were three reasons for errors.... Baltimore Pharmacy Owners Driven by Helping Patients with Health Barriers

A patient was recently referred to Voshell's Pharmacy in Baltimore via a direct payer program contracted by the pharmacy’s clinically integrated network, CPESN® Maryland. Pharmacy owner and technician, Thuy Cao, called the patient who lives near the pharmacy. Through Thuy’s outreach, the patient shared that her mother passed away seven months ago, and she hasn’t quite recovered from the trauma. Since her mother’s death, the patient didn’t want to talk with anyone. She didn’t want to go outside. She didn’t do either. And she didn’t visit her pharmacy (a chain pharmacy that didn’t offer prescription delivery). Because she didn’t proactively push the chain, they didn’t fill her blood pressure medications… for seven months. Click HERE to read the rest of the feature story.
