The Florida Association of Partners in Education ended 2016/2017 with a BIG BANG!
The STEM Conference in South Florida was a huge success thanks to Deborah Elfen, Volunteer Coordinator, Palm Beach County School District.
Teachers, Administrative Staff, Volunteer Coordinators, parents and others took part in several professional development training sessions organized by FAPE and the Palm Beach County School District.
The Go Wild with S.T.E.M. Conference at the South Florida Science Center held demonstrations on science, connecting literature & S.T.E.M. creating lesson plans and ideas on how to search for grant opportunities.
March Membership Madness
FAPE has devoted the last 42 years networking local school districts in the pursuit of sharing successful practices that promote public involvement in education.

Florida Association of Partners in Education Board Elections
FAPE members will be electing new officers this
year: President Elect, VP Business and Secretary. The FAPE board consists of a president, president elect, vice president of business partnerships, secretary, treasurer, immediate past president and DOE representative.
Officers will be elected for a two-year term, beginning July 2017 through June 2019. The Nominating Committee, chaired by Michelle Roberge, submitted the candidates listed below. Members will receive online ballots, for the purpose of voting, thirty days following this announcement.

President Elect: Patricia May, Volunteer Coordinator, Martin County
VP Business Partnerships: Robin Davis, Osceola County
Secretary: Kelli Walker, Volunteer Coordinator, Leon County
We're taking nominations for those positions at this time. Please let us know if you know someone who would be interested in either position.
2017 Florida Association of Partners in Education Community Engagement Volunteer Award
Florida Association of Partners in Education
Community Engagement Volunteer Award. The award will promote and recognize an innovative program that increases the engagement of community volunteers. Volunteer coordinators across the state will submit their best community engagement volunteer programs. The winners (elementary, middle and high school will be invited to present the program at the leadership conference in the fall, and there will be a cash award $500.00 each to support their program. The award is sponsored by Horace Mann. Nominations are due April 28, 2017. The winner will be announced in the Fall of 2017.
