From Big Box To Freestanding,

Gulf Coast Retail On The Upswing

By
John Fifer, CCIM and
Stacy Taylor, CCIM with
Beck Partners

The retail market along the Gulf Coast  of Florida and Alabama has rebounded significantly in the past few years. In 2016, we're expecting to see around 75% of retailers adding locations of all types and sizes, across most of our markets.
Existing retail big box vacancies are being absorbed very quickly, and  As second generation big boxes fill up, retailers are looking for new locations, with a lot of larger retail development projects coming out of the ground and being proposed.

This story is just one of several that provides a retrospective on regional commercial real estate and development in 2015, and a look at what to expect in the coming year in a new
annual report publication titled Insight Magazine, recently launched by Beck Partners.

CCIMs' Persistence Leads To Success For Veterans Clinic in Tavares

In mid-March -- after three long years -- the Veterans Administration Outpatient Clinic in Tavares held their grand opening with the symbolic red ribbon being cut by Congressman Dan Webster.

Charlie Brenner CCIM, and Rick Gonzalez CCIM tirelessly worked with the VA and property owners for two years to find the right location for the facility.  Brenner and Gonzalez are both heavily involved with Central Florida Veterans and understand how important it is for them to be able to get health care close to home, the two explain.

Ben Crosby Enjoys Teaching the Dirty Side of the Business

Ben Crosby, ALC, CCIM,owner/broker of Crosby & Associates Inc., with his 30+ years of real estate experience, is nationally recognized as an expert in land real estate and consulting.

He prides himself on establishing a team of equally accomplished Associates that make up Crosby & Associates, Inc., based in Winter Haven.

Not one to sit idle, this dedicated CCIM can also be found teaching RLI classes each year -- like the upcoming Site Selection course slated for April 26 & 27 at the Osceola County Association of Realtors.

In addition to serving as a past Florida CCIM Chapter President, Crosby has been repeatedly recognized for his dedication and service to his craft.  He is the recipient of the 2014 REALTORS® Land Institute (RLI) Land REALTOR® of America, 2014 RLI Excellence in Instruction Award for Florida and the 2014 Hank Thompson Award from the Florida CCIM Chapter.

When we asked Ben Crosby more about his interest in teaching RLI courses, we learned a few interesting facts.

Legislative Analysis Of Florida Politics By CCIM Expert

So, the legislative session has ended, and, once again we won some and we lost some.
