Banana-Oat Snackers

This is my favorite easy-peasy recipe for a snack that also happens to be healthy! It's a whole food, plant based, no oil snack perfect for those who are trying to eat well but who also enjoy a little sweet treat!

WHY Volunteer with Florida Voices for Animals?

By Laura Weiss

Animals cannot have enough voices!

“We are stronger in numbers!”

FVA is a 501 c 3 charity organization that promotes animal rights and educates the public on how to make compassionate choices to reduce the suffering of animals.  We put on events such as Tampa Bay Veg Fest annually, have protests, give aid to animal sanctuaries and shelters, and have park and coastal cleanups throughout the year.  We believe in protecting our environment, no animal cruelty, supporting ethical labor, educating the public/consumers about reading food ingredients, clothing labels, shopping, etc.

We can never have enough volunteers!

Your work as a volunteer can inspire positive changes for animals, the environment, social justice, and our health!

When we all work together, we can create a significant impact.

No job is ever too small!

Volunteering is a wonderful way to build skills and knowledge, while also helping our community.

You can be a role model for other people, by inspiring others to follow in your footsteps, to make a positive change in our society!

Volunteering for FVA allows you to meet many new “like minded” friends who are also passionate about being a voice for animals, protecting our environment, supporting ethical practices, and enjoying better health.

We have many volunteer jobs to fill all the time!

Here are just a few examples of jobs we need help with throughout the year:

Veg Fest volunteers for all areas of our annual festival

Workdays at animal sanctuaries

Park & Coastal cleanups

Online activism – Keeping up with existing laws and regulations and

emailing commissioners and congressmen to make changes for the

Attending local commissioner meetings about animal rights

Community organizing

Volunteering is great for your mental health too!

It gives you a sense of purpose to contribute towards the issues you feel most passionate about.

Gives you a chance to give back to your community!

Gain knowledge and ability doing things you have always wanted to try, but never have!

Improve your social skills and build self-confidence.

Strengthen existing relationships with friends, family, or partners, working towards a common goal.

Volunteering can be beneficial and fun for everyone!!

Woman found guilty in burning death of raccoon

Alicia Kincheloe and her father, Roddy Kincheloe, were found guilty by a jury on Wednesday of aggravated animal cruelty for burning an innocent raccoon alive named Rosie by animal activists. Alicia was also found guilty of tampering with evidence for trying to dispose of Rosie’s body. Sentencing will take place on December 19th. Read more about this despicable crime and the court hearing here. Special thanks to Traci Lipton and all the other activists that fought for #JusticeForRosie and made sure this crime was properly prosecuted!

SIGN: Hold Florida Cat Killer Accountable For Evil Acts Causing Extreme Suffering

Please sign this petition to ensure the Florida man accused of shooting multiple cats in a Town ‘N’ Country community with a pellet gun gets the maximum punishment:

Hold Town N Country Cat Killer Accountable

ATTENTION: Saint Francis Cat Rescue desperately needs kitten fosters!! Sadly, this year is the worst. The kittens are so young when trapped that they just morally and ethically don’t want to put them back out but they can be socialized and adopted with your help. If you can foster, please call Suzanne House at 813-857-2329.
