Flowers, Hotels, Orgasms, Comic Books and Male Strippers

Hooray, hooray, the First of May! If May puts you in the mood for planting blooms, we've got a step-by-step guide for building a flower tower that's perfect for even a tiny NYC terrace. When you're traveling on your own, do you ever stop to think if your hotel is safe? Women's travel expert Phyllis Stoller offers some hotel safety tips today. Now about that big "O". Ellen Dolgen reports on the O- Shot that helps women achieve orgasms. Really?  And when's the last time you read a comic book? We always loved Brenda Starr, Girl Reporter, a great role model now that we think about it. Well now there's a comic book for grownup Tomatoes. Over Easy is a very funny 'graphic novel' about diners, drugs, and California in the 1970s. Stephanie Urdang offers her advice and wisdom to Tomatoes, including one who is feeling self-conscious around her much younger boyfriend, and a Tomato who has trouble accepting praise. Liz Smith has a potpourri of goodies today including the news that Channing Tatum will return to his role as a stripper in a sequel to Magic Mike. Woo Hoo! Read on for a few of today's highlights.

An Orgasm a Day - Introducing the O-Shot.  While there are countless products that support men's virility, health advocate and menopause expert, Ellen Dolgen says women are often left wondering if it's a lost cause, resigning ourselves to live out the second halves of our lives as though we're holed up in a convent. Well now there's the O-Shot, a 30 minute procedure that uses your own blood platelets to support your body's natural ability to achieve orgasm. The platelets are then injected into the vaginal tissue. If you're shouting YIKES! like we are right now, Ellen also offers some other alternatives for better sex. PHEW.  Read on.

A Fun and Funny Read. You may not know the name Mimi Pond, but once you know she wrote the first episode of "The Simpsons" and that her cartoons and illustrations have appeared in countless publications, you'll be intrigued with her graphical semi-memoir, Over Easy.  Reviewer Robbie Tucker says "Mimi Pond, envelops you with her world, a whimsical account of her college-aged waitressing in the late 1970s at an eccentric Oakland diner near her former art school. Read more including an excerpt graphic page from the book.

Before You Book That Hotel. We know lots of you Tomatoes travel frequently for business and pleasure, and booking a hotel with comfy rooms, great bedding, room service and WIFI may make the top of your list, how often do you think about safety? Well read on for women's travel expert, Phyllis Stoller's 5 tips on the kind of hotels you should NOT book.

It's Blooming Spring. Last spring we got intrigued with the flower tower, which is a great accent to a deck, porch, or even tiny apartment terrace. The step-by-step video from Home Depot, shows you exactly how to build it, which is really quite simple. BUT, our choice of flowers last year never really created the kind of blooming tower we were longing for. This year we're going to try petunias. Any advice will be appreciated. Check out the step-by-step video, plus a great guide for planning out your garden too. Happy blooms.

Cheers,

...it was a sad day when the Brenda Starr comic strip ceased four years ago, after 40 years, leaving us wondering if Brenda and Basil St. John would ever get back together.
