Flu Vaccine Clinics

Getting vaccinated each year is the best way to protect yourself – and others – against seasonal influenza.

Annual flu vaccination is always strongly recommended for college students due to the highly contagious nature of influenza and the close proximity within which students live and study. Flu vaccination is especially important during the continuing COVID-19 pandemic to help prevent individuals from simultaneously conflating symptoms or experiencing both illnesses.

Cornell Health partners with Wegmans Pharmacy each fall to provide our annual on-campus flu vaccination clinics.

Clinics are:

  • Open to all – students, staff, faculty, retirees, student spouses/partners, and other community and family members (age 3+)
  • FREE for all students, staff, faculty, and retirees (other community members: the cost will depend on your insurance; most plans cover flu vaccination)
  • Offering 3 vaccine types: Regular dose, senior dose (for age 65+), and thimerosal-free flu shots (learn more about flu vaccine types

For more information and dates of the clinics, please visit Cornell Health's web page.

Cornell Concert Series Season Opens

The 2023–24 season will be a banner year, celebrating 120 years of presenting the range and depth of music from around the world. The series will feature gutsy Klezmer and classical Indian music traditions, as well as cross-cultural collaborations. Guitarist Frank Vignola partners with violinist Tessa Lark in a cross-genre exploration, while Tafelmusik performs the pinnacle of Baroque music. On the classical side, the Dover Quartet opens the season, followed by The Knights with Chris Thile, and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine brings hope to us all.

Cornell Concert Series’ artists are united by their passion for what they do, bringing a range of the world’s best music to you.

For schedule and purchase tickets, please visit the series web page.

Ithaca Warm Line Volunteers Needed

Suicide Prevention & Crisis Service is looking for volunteers to be trained to take calls on the Ithaca Warm Line!

The Ithaca Warm Line runs 24/7 and is a great preventative opportunity for individuals who may be feeling lonely, disconnected, or just need to talk. Callers who reach out to the Ithaca Warm Line are not in crisis. This line is for social connections and light conversation.

A one-day training for new volunteers will be held on Saturday, September 30th from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM at the SPCS Business Office in Ithaca. You will learn all the tools you need to be successful in volunteering on this line. Once trained, scheduling is flexible to meet your needs. We encourage a minimum of 4 hours per week but can work with you. Must be 18 to work on the Ithaca Warm Line. Training and all shifts are conducted on-site at the SPCS Business Office and SPCS Call Center.

If interested, please reach out to Tiffany at blosst@ithacacrisis.org.
