Greetings!
What a wild (and wonderful) year! In this month’s newsletter, we kick off a season filled with gratitude, memories and celebrations from volunteers, families, and pilots.
This year Challenge Air introduced hundreds of new kids and families to the experience of flight with two very successful virtual fly days. THANK YOU to the many volunteers and supporters who made the videos, packed boxes for the kids, provided financial support, and allowed us to offer this new experience! Clearly, we have found a great new tradition and outreach. Then, on August 14th we flew 49 kids around Felts Field in Spokane, WA due to smoke from the mountains. Our co-pilots still had a great time! On September 11, 69 kids enjoyed flights around Kansas City, MO. Centennial Airport in Denver welcomed 49 kids with special needs and their families on September 25th and on October 9th, 50 amazing co-pilots earned their wings in Tulsa, OK. Our final Fly Day for the year was October 30th in Mesquite, TX where over 100 kids experienced the gift of flight! Please take a moment to watch the recap video below of this spectacular day. Challenge Air is grateful to the pilots, volunteers and sponsors who made these 5 events life-changing for 350 families and co-pilots!
With the changing season also comes an upcoming change to our Board of Trustees. We would like to take this time to celebrate the generosity of a few good men. Thank you all for being a difference maker in the lives of our kids with special needs!
With much appreciation,
April Culver, CEO/Executive Director
