The Local Vise
Legend Chuck Stranahan is up this Saturday at 11 am for our Local Vise!  Chuck is known among his professional peers as one of the most talented fly tyers of this era - a recognition the angling public is now coming to share. A long-time professional fly tyer and guide, he is also a writer, instructor, and speaker at fly-fishing clubs and sportsmen's shows.

This weekend Chuck will share two of his magical patterns that work wonder on our local rivers.  His famous Brindle Chute and Caddis Variant!  Don't miss out on this one!

These are local patterns for local rivers, tied by local tyers!
Stranahan's Brindle Chute
Brindle Chute

A multicolored mix of dubbing and hackle that mimics light patterns trout see on the water. Use for many similar-colored hatches. Or, fish it as a searching pattern - it produces when nothing else works.

Stranahan's Caddis Variant

Chuck's all-time favorite, most productive fly. Does exceptionally well for early season limnephiledae, then doubles for little yellow stones. Dances on the water and invites strikes. A good searcher pattern any time. Equally effective on flat or rough water.
