It's a bit confusing in town with the start of filming for the Warner Bros movie,
The Judge. The Gallery will be the set for a night shot in which Robert Downey Jr. breaks into the Flying Deer Diner. It will be an honor to have Mr. Downey climb up our drain pipe, or more accurately, Hollywood's special reinforced drain pipe!
Much of the Village of Shelburne Falls has been remade into Carlinville, Indiana. Various town businesses have new signage and apparently we are having a Blueberry Festival soon. Too bad that festival is only in the movies, sounds like a good time.
TRAFFIC issues:
Now through June 22 intermittant traffic will be allowed downtown, except June 5-6 when downtown will be closed. There will still be parking behind the Keystone Market. June 12 and 13 our customers are asked to park at the Trolley Museum and walk over to the gallery. There will be "movie cars" with Indiana license plates in our parking lot.
I drove in this morning on State St. (exit just after the Deerfield River coming from Greenfield) and waited about 5 minutes to come through. I think State St. is your best bet if you are coming to the gallery.
RIVERFEST Saturday, June 8! Events all over town celebrating our own Deerfield River.
OPENING RECEPTION coming right up! Saturday, June 8 we will celebrate the light filled oil paintings of Marcia Wise. Come join us for treats, gorgeous works of art and a chance to meet the artist.
Music will be by another Salmon Falls artist, Tim Danyliw. He will be playing a drum of his own creation made from a recycled propane tank.
Come up the hill and be inspired! Not to mention that it's a great view of movie doings...
