Flying Fish News - 10/15/2020
For the calendar
  • Our fall season ends on Sunday, November 1.
  • Our second fall season begins on Monday, November 2.
Next season of swim team is November 2 - January 10
Our second fall season (Fall II) begins November 2 and ends January 10.

If you are a current swim team member
You should have received an email from your coach about confirming your spot.

When you register for Fall II via Community Pass, in addition to your swim team fee, you also will pay an $81 USA Swimming Membership fee. (Add it to your cart.) And, if you haven't already done so, you must complete and return a USA Swimming membership form for your swimmer. (You can email the completed form to Pete or return a hard copy.)

If you are not a current swim team member
You can confirm a spot and register next week. Look for an email early next week with registration information for Fall II. We are giving current swim team members priority in signing up, but early next week, we will open up registration to swimmers who did not participate in the early fall season.

If you have questions about signing up, group placement, or other aspects of the Fall II season, contact Pete.
Upcoming time trials
Swimmers participating in our fall season will get an opportunity to race during time trials at the YWCA the week of October 26. No sign up is required and the time trials will be held during swimmers' regular practice times.
Good luck to our high school girls!
We wish all of our Flying Fish girls who are competing for their high schools the best of luck as they approach their championship meets. We look forward to welcoming you back!
How to purchase swimsuits and other equipment
We are not requiring team suits this year, but if you'd like to purchase a swimsuit or other Flying Fish gear (backpacks, sweats, etc.) you can do so through our team store.

We also have swim caps (with the Flying Fish logo), goggles, and other equipment available for purchase via Community Pass.

If you're unsure about what equipment is needed, check with a coach.

One more thing: Keep an eye out for an upcoming Flying Fish gear sale -- just in time for cooler weather!
In other YWCA news. . .
October is Domestic Violence Awareness month and, at YWCA Evanston/North Shore, we're doubling down on this critical issue throughout the month with our "Every 9 Seconds" campaign.

Every 9 seconds, a woman in the U.S. is beaten or battered, but you can help survivors in our local communities build a way out. Learn how here.
