Awards ceremony recap
We had a good turnout for our awards ceremony on April 4. All swimmers (excluding high schoolers) received trophies for their dedication and commitment to completing the season.  If you were not able to attend the ceremony, you can pick up your trophy at the YWCA beginning on Monday, April 8.

We honored those who excelled during the marathon and we recognized outstanding swimmers in each practice group. Our outstanding swimmer awards are based on attendance, practice habits, work ethic, attitude, and sportsmanship. We also consider how well swimmers cope with challenges at practice and at meets. (The swimmers pictured at right were part of a group of four Whitefish who were named outstanding swimmers.)

You can see this year's marathon award winners here and outstanding swimmers here.

We also named swimmers of the year, for both junior swimmers (grade school) and senior swimmers (high school). These awards include the criteria noted above, along with performance at meets.

This year's junior swimmers of the year were Abigail Romisher and Nate Cvetas. Our senior swimmers of the year were Erin Long, Lily Consiglio, and Matt Gibson.

Finally, it has become a tradition at our awards ceremony for our graduating seniors to share reflections about their years as Flying Fish. You can watch this year's senior speeches on our  Facebook page.

Congratulations all!
