The summer 2026 season of the Flying Fish swim team begins Monday, June 8 and ends Sunday, August 2.

• With a few exceptions, swimmers will stay with the same practice groups for the summer season.

• We know many of our swimmers participate in other sports and activities, but we encourage them to also stick with swimming in the summer, particularly if they're in a more experienced group or want to progress quickly.

Please confirm your intent with Pete by Monday, June 1. Once you've confirmed with Pete, you can register on Community Pass. You cannot register on Community Pass without confirming with Pete first.

Eligible groups: All spring season swimmers. Swimmers swim based on their age the first day of the meet (May 19). All meet fees go toward the Oz Fund, which provides aquatics scholarships.

• AM sessions: 13-older
• PM sessions: 12 and under

Eligible groups: Blue, Iron, Gold, Diamond and high school swimmers. White, Red and Silver may be eligible; check with your coach. Registration for this meet is closed.

What's the difference between long course and short course?

Long course refers to a pool that measures 50 meters in length. The standard size for international swimming (including the Olympics) is 50 meters. Typically, swim meets conducted in the U.S. from the end of April through August are long course.

Short course refers to a pool that measures 25 yards in length. Generally, meets conducted in the U.S. from October to March are short course. The YWCA upstairs pool is a short course pool.

The Flying Fish coaches do not recommend long course meets for beginning swimmers or those with limited meet experience.
