Thank you for your support during Oz Week
|
Thank you for the many ways you supported the Oz Fund last week. Whether through the Oz Meet, Oz Relay, or making a donation (including the fishbowl), your generous gifts will make a big difference for hundreds of children.
To date, we have raised more than $21,000, which will help fund over 200 sessions of swim lessons or more than 1,400 30-minute swim classes.
A special thank you to those who sponsored five lanes during the Oz Relay:
Julie McBratney,
Cath Carpenter,
Roshni Flynn,
Kurt Zoller,
Kathy Wolff, and
Shannon Cahill. Thank you also to
Dana and Katrina Martin for hosting the Oz rally on Saturday night. (And thanks to the swimmers pictured, who swam the final leg of the relay!)
If you're still planning on supporting the Oz Fund or if you haven't yet paid for your relay swim, please email
Pete. Learn more Oswald Roper and the Oz Fund

Looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity in the pool?
|
If you're looking for an easy, rewarding way to help others, volunteer to work with the
Books and Breakfast kids from Evanston's public schools this summer.
We need swim instructors for this group on Saturdays from noon to 1:30 pm from mid-June to mid-August. We'll supply the training and anyone middle-school age to adult can sign up. You don't need experience, just a desire to share your love of the water with young kids. We work with Books and Breakfast as part of our outreach to the community.

Engage with YWCA Evanston/North Shore
|
The 20th annual Ricky Byrdsong Memorial Race Against Hate is Sunday, June 16. This annual 5/10k run, walk, and youth mile is a community staple and a family-friendly way to get more deeply involved with the mission of YWCA Evanston/North Shore.
You can
register now, put a lawn sign in your yard (they're in our lobby), and look forward to joining a host of Flying Fish families on race day. You don't want to miss it!
