Four-week session of water polo starts July 10 |
We're offering beginning water polo on Saturdays from 1-2 pm beginning July 10 and ending July 31.
This 4-week session is open to all genders age 10-12 years old and the cost is $65. You don't have to be currently swimming with us to participate, but basic swimming skills are necessary.

Aquatics camp for young swimmers begins August 2 |
From Monday, August 2 through Friday, August 13, we're hosting an aquatics camp for Flying Fish swim team members ages 8-10. (You don't have to be part of the late summer season to attend.)
Camp sessions will be held at the YWCA weekdays 8:30 am - noon.
Activities will include swim instruction, recreational swimming, organized games and even water safety instruction.
Cost: $175 for one week; $325 for both weeks.

What will you miss most about swimming at the YWCA?
The coaches and the other swimmers.
What are your plans for next year?
Attending Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. I will be majoring in screenwriting and swimming on their swim team.
Anything else you want to say to young swimmers, parents, coaches or anyone else?
Tighten your goggles and tie your suit.

When did you start swimming at the YWCA?
I started swimming at the YW in either 2007 or 2008 when I was 5 or 6.
What is your favorite Flying Fish memory?
When we were listening to "In the Air Tonight" before practice and we all jumped in at the drums part. Or the training trips!
What will you miss most about swimming at the YWCA?
Terry's smiling face at 6 a.m.
What are your plans for next year?
To study finance and econ at Indiana University.
Anything else you want to say to young swimmers, parents, coaches or anyone else?
Thank you, Terry and Anne for being the best coaches! I loved all of Terry's creative practices and while he was never the most talkative, he was the funniest coach. And Anne, how do you know everything about everyone? Truly a gift.
Also, thank you to the rest of the coaching staff for making my time at FF a great one. From Oz to Kim, CJ, Justin, Mike and everyone else. Thank you!

Covid protocols and submitting proof of vaccination |
Read the most recent update about YWCA Covid protocols here.
Please note that, as of July 6, any swimmer who has submitted proof of vaccination will not need to wear a mask in the building. (You can submit proof of vaccination by emailing a copy of your vaccination card to Pete or by bringing a hard copy to your coach.)
Those who have not submitted proof of vaccination will need to continue to wear masks in the building except when swimming.

Can you help by donating personal care products? |
|
YWCA Evanston/North Shore's new emergency shelter for domestic violence survivors and their families is opening soon. Can you help by donating personal care items? Here's what's needed:
- dental floss
- deodorant
- conditioner
- body lotion
The shelter has a lot of other essential products, but we need the above items -- in regular sizes. If you can help, please send any of these with your swimmer or bring them to the pool entrance on Ridge Avenue and give them to a coach or instructor.
