Registration ends August 29
Unless you're new to the team, you should have received an email about the upcoming fall/winter season of the Flying Fish, which begins October 7, with a pre-season beginning September 9. The email includes details about group placement, schedules, and registration dates. You'll find a copy of that email here.

Next week (week of August 26) is the final week to register your swimmer! Registration will be held in the lobby of the YWCA, Monday, Aug. 26 - Thursday, Aug. 29, at the following times:
  • 9:30-11:30 am
  • 5:30-7:30 pm

If you haven't yet registered, we look forward to seeing you next week!
Stay tuned for upcoming practices
Depending on when we get the pools filled and operating again, we may be running practices for high school boys and other older groups as early as next week. Be on the lookout for an email with details.
Join us for a mini clinic beginning Sept. 3
Want to get back in the water for some fine-tuning (and fun) before the pre-season starts? Join us any day or all week during our one-week mini clinic, Tuesday, September 3 - Saturday, September 7 at the YWCA.

Each day will focus on a different stroke/skill as follows:
Tuesday - freestyle
Wednesday - backstroke
Thursday - breaststroke
Friday - butterfly
Saturday - starts and turns

Schedule for 9 year olds and younger:
Tuesday (9/3) - Friday (9/6): 4:30-5:30 pm; Saturday (9/7): 1:30-2:30 pm

Schedule for 10-13 year olds:
Tuesday (9/3) - Friday (9/6): 5:30-6:30 pm; Saturday (9/7): 12:30-1:30 pm

The cost for the mini clinic is $15/day or $55 for all week. Sign up at the front desk.
We're launching a girls water polo club!
You already know that swimming translates to water polo. But water polo offers a whole new array of skills, with its focus on hand-eye coordination, intense teamwork, and great conditioning. (It's been said that water polo players are better conditioned athletes than any others except for ice hockey players).

Most important of all, water polo is fun! That's why we're launching a Flying Fish girls water polo club for girls ages 9-13. If you've never played water polo before or have plenty of experience, we want you!

We'll meet on Sundays, noon to 1:00 pm at the YWCA, and our first seven-week session will run Sunday, September 8 - Sunday, October 20. The cost is $75 for the entire session.

If you have questions, please email Pete.
Suit fitting with All-American Aquatics on September 14
Stop by the YWCA on Saturday, September 14, from 11 am to 4 pm to order your team suit and purchase additional swim equipment, like goggles, from our vendor, All-American Aquatics.

We strongly encourage everyone to attend the fitting and try on suits because brands are sized differently and can't be returned once they're customized with our logo. Remember: We ask all swimmers to purchase a team suit each year. Suits stretch with minimal wear and we want our swimmers to be well equipped for both practice and meets.

Greenfish are not required to purchase a team suit, but if your Greenfish would like a team suit and any other equipment, we warmly welcome you to stop by on September 14.
Updated long-course team records
Congratulations to our swimmers who set new long-course team records during our spring and summer seasons. You'll find our updated list of long-course records here.
