Coaching updates

The YWCA recently announced that Terry Silkaitis will assume full responsibility for our more experienced and our high school swimmers as Head Senior Coach. Terry has been with the Flying Fish for nearly 20 years and brings a wealth of expertise from his own storied career and from coaching those at the highest levels of the sport for many years. Steeped in knowledge, Terry works to provide the physical and mental training these swimmers need to achieve their performance goals. We are lucky to have him!

We are also lucky to have Chris Russo now in an expanded role as Head Age Group Coach. Chris grew up in the Flying Fish program and brings his experience as an age group, high school and college swimmer, as well as his coaching and teaching credentials to the role. He is committed to leading the way for all of our swimmers, particularly our age groupers, so they can achieve their maximum potential.

If you want to try on swimsuits and shop for swim equipment, come to the YWCA on Saturday, October 3 from 10 am to 2 pm.

Our preferred vendor, All-American Aquatics, will be here with suits you can try on for size.

And you can order other items like Flying Fish backpacks and parkas. These items are also available through our All-American Aquatics team store.

(Some gear, like kickboards and goggles, is always available through the front desk/Community Pass.)

Note: All Flying Fish swimmers, with the exception of Greenfish and Bronzefish, should have team suits.
