Greetings!

We are so happy to tell you our August Beach Clean up along Nelson waterfront went well. It as such fun! It was our first activity since the hiatus and several of our new volunteers were there, despite the earlier rain.

So, now we are getting ready to clean up Cottonwood Falls on BC Rivers Day.

See the details below - and join us for a great Sunday afternoon.

Become a FoKLSS volunteer:

Since our members meeting in June, several of you have stepped forward to help in different and amazing ways. This is so encouraging. Without you we would not be able to move forward. Thank you, so much.

We are working hard now to make FoKLSS sustainable for the future and we'll be inviting you to our AGM very soon to talk about this.

Meanwhile, if you have any time or any skills to offer; we'd just love to hear from you. You can get in touch here anytime and we will get right back to you

We need your support now - more than ever before!

This event is supporting the Cottonwood Creek Revival Project, a partnership between FOKLSS, Living Lakes Canada and the Nelson and District Rod and Gun Club.

Clean up

Cottonwood Falls

Sunday, September 22, 2024

12.30-3.30pm

Cottonwood Falls Park, 199 Carbonate Street, Nelson, BC

As BC Rivers Day approaches on September 22nd, we're excited to invite you to a hands-on opportunity to make a real difference .

During water quality monitoring work recently, volunteers noticed an abundance of trash in and around the creek from CP Rail Property to Kootenay Lake. So, we’re organizing a clean-up event at Cottonwood Falls Park and we would love for you to join us!

Your enthusiasm is needed for a successful cleanup day. Let's work together to enhance the beauty of our local creek and make a positive impact on the health of the Lake's ecosystem.

What to Bring:

  • Comfortable and weather-appropriate clothing (and shoes you don’t mind getting a little dirty)
  • A reusable water bottle to stay hydrated
  • Extra cleanup supplies if you have them (gloves, buckets, trash pickers, etc.)
  • A big smile and a positive attitude!

What We’ll Provide:

  • Essential cleanup supplies (gloves, buckets, trash pickers, etc.)
  • Refreshments and snacks to keep your energy up
  • A chance to connect with fellow eco-enthusiasts

We'd love you to RSVP to our Facebook event and sign our online waiver beforehand!

Looking forward to seeing you there!
