Dear Christ the King Family,

In recent years, Christ the King has seen steady growth in worship attendance and ministry activities. Because of this, our church leadership prayerfully began exploring the vision for expanding and enhancing our campus facilities. As an initial step in the process, earlier this year, the congregation was invited to participate in 19 Focus Group meetings to gather insights and gauge support for future ministry opportunities and potential facility expansion at Christ the King.

The feedback from the Focus Group meetings revealed a strong desire to continue toward the next steps in the process of expanding and maximizing our impact here on Silber Road, fulfilling our vision to Reach Houston for Christ and Renew Lives by Grace. The valuable feedback we received is guiding us as we move to the next phases of the plan.

These were the key themes we heard:

  • Your desire for the church to remain Spirit-led with Christ-centered, biblical teaching.
  • Your hope that we remain community minded through outreach to our community as well as building relationships within our church body.
  • Your desire for growth – both in our physical space and spiritually.
  • That we remain committed to church planting.
  • That Christ the King be a place where all people feel welcomed.

In response, the Session and leadership of the church are creating committees to research and plan the next steps we should take. The first committee formed was a Building Committee to help determine the scope and feasibility of expanding our facilities. The committee has chosen a project manager and an architect to create a site plan and initial concept drawings. A second committee has been formed with the goal of seeking the Lord’s guidance for how to best steward our building and resources on Silber Road.

Each member of Christ the King plays a vital role in the church body as we work together to fulfill God’s purpose. We are committed to keeping you informed throughout this process and encourage you to stay engaged. One of the best ways you can participate is through prayer. Please begin praying for the committees, the architects involved and the leadership of our church. We believe that God will direct our path, and we are humbled to be a part of this process with you.

In His Service,

The Governance Commission of Christ the King
