Submittals will be reviewed to determine if the continuing education requirements were met. Supporting documentation to prove completion of a course or activity is required. Registrants who fail to meet the requirements will be notified and offered an opportunity to resolve the violation. Registrants who choose not to resolve the violation will be subject to the board’s disciplinary process.

| | NCARB Updates Education Alternative Pathway, Potentially Shortening Timeline for Some Reciprocity Candidates | | |
Effective January 15, 2026, NCARB retired the three-year waiting period between licensure and NCARB certification eligibility for U.S. architects without a degree from a program accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). The Education Alternative provides a pathway to an NCARB Certificate, and licensure in Nevada, for US architects who do not have a NAAB-accredited degree. Applicants using the Education Alternative pathway must still complete the experience and examination requirements.

Disciplinary Actions
(October 23, 2025 through January 21, 2026)
| | |
The board is responsible for investigating alleged violations and enforcing compliance with NRS and NAC 623.
Two cases were submitted for board consideration and approved. There was also one case considered at a formal contested administrative hearing (see following article). Additionally, 11 cases were closed because there was no basis for the allegations or the complaint did not fall within the board's jurisdiction.
The cases below were closed by means of settlement agreement. As part of the agreement respondents agreed to assure compliance with Chapter 623. Should the respondents be involved in a subsequent case and found to have again violated NRS, NAC or Rules of Conduct, the case may be used as an aggravating factor.
Every effort is made to ensure that the following information is correct. Before making any decision based on this information you should contact the NSBAIDRD.

Board Revokes License, Finds Registrant in Violation of NRS 623.180.1(b) and NRS 623.270.1(g)
Case No. 26-040R
The board found the respondent, Michael Peterson (147-RD), violated NRS 623.270.1(g) by failing to comply with the conditions set out in a June 2024 order from a previous disciplinary case. Additionally, the board found Mr. Peterson violated NRS 623.180.1(b) and NRS 623.270.1(g) by providing services that fall under the practice of residential design when his registration was suspended.
The board revoked the respondent’s certificate of registration and barred him from reapplying for licensure for a period of 10 years. In addition, all outstanding penalties, fees, and costs must be paid in full before any future application will be considered, and the board may impose restrictions on any future license. The respondent was also assessed a $2,000 administrative fine and is responsible for covering all costs and fees associated with the investigation and hearing.
