National Association of Area Agencies (n4a) Changes Name to USAging
USAging, formerly known as the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging, unveiled its first name change in its 46-year history. The USAging rebranding will help the association to better serve the needs of its members now and in the future, which in turn helps enable older adults and people with disabilities to live independently in their homes and communities.
“USAging is a more accurate representation of who we are as an association and what our members do,” said USAging CEO Sandy Markwood. “Our new, more inclusive name reinforces the passion and dedication we have to our members and those they serve. Though we have a new name and look, USAging remains the national membership association for local leaders in aging well at home.”

Tips from The Caregiver Helpbook:
As a family caregiver, maintaining your health and avoiding distress is crucial to avoid "burnout." The connection between stress and overall health is clear: reducing stress can strengthen one's immune system. The following four steps can help caregivers maintain their health and avoid distress:
  1. Recognize your warnings signs of stress.
  2. Identify your sources of stress.
  3. Identify what you can and cannot change.
  4. Take action to manage your stress.
