The Small Business Administration (SBA) has re-opened the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) for applications from eligible small businesses.

PPP provides loans to help businesses keep their workforce employed during the COVID-19 crisis. SBA is currently offering:


SBA is currently accepting Paycheck Protection Program PPP loan applications from participating community financial institutions (CFIs) and lenders with under $1 billion in assets, which includes approximately 5,000 institutions, including community banks, credit unions, and farm credit institutions. Lender Match can help you find a participating lender. The program will open to all lenders on January 19, 2021.
City Council Approves New Sylvan Property Sale
At the Citrus Heights City Council meeting on Thursday, Jan. 14, staff presented details for a potential purchase and sale agreement for the City-owned property near the intersection known locally as “Sylvan Corners.” City Council voted to approve the purchase and sale agreement.

The developer, Woodside Homes, has created a potential plan for the site includes new single-family, detached for sale homes, including bungalow and cottage lots. The presentation Thursday evening highlighted the project’s potential to provide walkability to nearby retail and schools, and attract new families to the established corridor. Staff noted that attracting new families will help support the existing commercial area.

Stay-at-Home Order Lifted
On Tuesday, January 12, Governor Newsom announced that due to a 4-week projected ICU rate of 19%, the Greater Sacramento Region would be immediately released from the Stay-at-Home Order put in place on December 10.

The announcement was finalized on Wednesday, January 13, placing the Greater Sacramento Region into the Purple Tier as outlined in the state's Blueprint for a Safer Economy.

Grant Program Zoom Q&A
Last Friday, January 8, 2021, Economic Development staff, the Citrus Heights Chamber, and the NorCal Small Business Development Center (SBDC) held a Zoom Q&A to answer questions regarding the latest COVID-19 Small Business Grant Program.

Gina Lujan with Hacker Labs and a NorCal SBDC Financial Advisor, provided attendees with background and guidance on the CA Relief Grant which closed on January 13.
