Take the Love Local Pledge
The City's Economic Development Division has partnered with the Citrus Heights Chamber to share our City's Love Local pride! In the coming weeks, Chamber ambassadors will be visiting our local businesses and handing out Love Local decals.
By displaying your Love Local decal, you are letting our community know that when they make the conscious decision to shop local they are directly investing in our community!

The City Wants to Share Your Business :
  1. Put your Love Local decal in a highly visible place (window, door, near the register).
  2. Snap a photo of your decal, business signage, and/or a product or service you offer.
  3. Email photos to, along with links to your business social media handles that you would like us to tag.
  4. Follow the City's social media pages (so you can share our post of your business!)
California Competes Tax Credit
The California Competes Tax Credit (CCTC) is an income tax credit available to businesses that want to locate in California or stay and grow in California.

Businesses of any industry, size, or location compete for over $180 million available in tax credits by applying in one of the three application periods each year. Applicants will be analyzed based on twelve different factors of evaluation, including number of full-time jobs being created, amount of investment, and strategic importance to the state or region.

For fiscal year 2019-2020, GO-Biz will accept applications for the California Competes Tax Credit during the following periods:
  • July 27, 2020 – August 17, 2020
  • January 4, 2021 – January 25, 2021
  • March 8, 2021 – March 29, 2021

Prior to each application period, GO-Biz hosts online webinars about the California Competes Tax Credit program. Each webinar consists of a 45-minute presentation, followed by a question and answer session. Each presentation includes the following:
  • Overview of the program
  • Program goals and evaluation criteria
  • Step-by-step instructions through the application process

All businesses are encouraged to participate in the educational webinars to receive instructions on how to apply. Below is a list of upcoming webinars.

Planning Business Resources and Information Material
The City of Citrus Heights Economic Development Division wants to hear from you! In order to provide our business community with relevant resources and information, we are asking you to take a short survey provided below.

In partnership with the Capital Region Small Business Development Center (SBDC), we want to work to provide technical assistance to small business owners in the form of no-cost consulting and workshop-style training. The main goals of the SBDC are to assist start-up and established businesses in a variety of areas.

As we continue to navigate these challenging times together, we want to make sure we are providing our business community with continued support and useful information!

Great Plates Program Extended
The Great Plates program in Citrus Heights has officially been extended until September 9, 2020. Our program provides free meals to seniors from local restaurants, to help our at-risk population stay safe while we work to lessen the impacts of COVID-19.

We are still looking for Citrus Heights restaurants who are able to participate in this amazing opportunity! Locally this program has delivered 31,358 meals to 170 participants. The Great Plates program has invested $643,087.00 back to our Citrus Heights restaurants!

Take the Love Local Pledge
The City’s Temporary Outdoor Program (TOP) relaxes regulations concerning use of outdoor spaces for RESTAURANT and RETAIL businesses.

City staff have created an easy-to-follow guide , providing detailed information and allowing businesses to self-certify.

Businesses wishing to participate should closely follow the guidelines provided.

Share your Business Expertise
The City is encouraging the community to #LoveLocal and #LearnLocal. We are collecting how-to videos and tutorials from you, our local businesses, to get the word out about your business and help build your rapport with our community.
Videos should be short, and explain something within your industry that our community would be interested in learning. They can be filmed on a smartphone, and should be uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo, or a similar platform, for easy sharing! Once you have your video uploaded to a platform like YouTube or Vimeo, or on a cloud based app like DropBox or Google Drive, send a link to your video to .
