CTE Month is a time to celebrate and raise awareness of career and technical education's crucial role in preparing many of our students for careers in the local, regional, and national workforce. Visit our CTE Month website to learn more about the work of various CTE programs, participate in CTE Month events, and see our students showcasing their achievements and mastery of their technical skills. You can also join the celebration by shouting out CTE students and educators on social media, using #CTEMonth and #CTEphilly. 

Join the Critical Friends of Curriculum and Instruction Advisory Group and the Office of Multilingual Curriculum and Programs, as they share implementation updates on Policy 138. Attendees will learn about and have opportunities to provide feedback on District supports for multilingual learners and families. All District stakeholders are encouraged to attend.

Do you have or know a child who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2023? Register them for Kindergarten to give them an opportunity to Thrive at Five!

Registering by May 31 is strongly recommended because it gives families time to become familiar with the details of their child's school, which can make the Kindergarten transition easier. So don't delay; help someone register their child for Kindergarten (or Pre-K) today!

The Charles E. Ellis Trust for Girls helps eligible young women living in low-income, single-parent households achieve their goals through education. The Trust annually awards Ellis Tuition Assistance Grants to high school students in need of tuition aid, and Ellis Enrichment Grants to cover a range of high-impact enrichment programs and basic school needs (e.g. school supplies, uniforms and basic apparel). The first is a workshop with Courtney Calloway, School Intervention Coach, and Dai-jah Diggs, Clinical Research Coordinator, from the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's Center for Violence Prevention. They will present strategies for bullying prevention and promoting positive peer relationships followed by Q&A. The event will be held virtually on February 9 at 7:00 p.m. and you can register at paep.net/sel.

The second is a theater workshop with actor and teaching artist Conor McGuigan. Parents and caregivers are invited to join their students in this free workshop. The event will be held virtually on February 25 at 11:00 a.m. Interested in attending? Register here: paep.net/theater-workshop.
