Wondering about your legal rights as a grandparent or kinship caregiver raising a child in our city? Check out our workshop and learn more. You’ll get an overview of the legal rights of seniors raising a child and learn definitions; you’ll understand the needs of families, and we’ll review practical legal tips and resources that can be used by grandparents and/or kinship caregivers who are helping to raise our students.

Reminder: Indoor Masking will be Required in District Buildings through January 13, 2023

This decision is in accordance with the General COVID-19 Protocols for the 2022-23 School Year that was shared earlier this fall and is also in alignment with guidance from the Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH). Grounded in the theme “Always Forward,” the purpose is to uplift and amplify the voices of individuals, program offices, and organizations throughout Philadelphia who are working to advance equity and social justice within the School District of Philadelphia. Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Math (STEAM) Guide Feedback Opportunity for Families and Students - Join us!

Monday, January 23 | 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. | Virtual

The Office of Curriculum and Instruction would like to invite families and students to participate in a feedback session on a draft of the District's first STEAM Guide. The purpose of the guide is to define STEAM and provide guidance to provide rich STEAM learning in all schools so every student in Philadelphia is empowered to tackle the challenges of today and build our tomorrow. Register by January 17, 2023; a link will be sent out on the 18th. Please email STEAM@philasd.org with any questions.

Save the Date: Black Generational Wealth Series

My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) Action Academy aims to close the opportunity divide for Black men and boys in Philadelphia. This day long event will bring together government and community leaders to offer workshops, resources, and networking opportunities across the city that are relevant to Philadelphia’s Black men and boys.


While the Black Generational Wealth Series is targeted toward Black men, all residents are welcome to attend and all events are free.
