School District of Philadelphia Summer Programs - Registration Open!

Exciting summer learning and enrichment opportunities are now available for students in grades K-12! Programs range from academic enrichment to summer employment for high schoolers, including the Career and Technical Education Summer Camp and the Summer Achievers program. All current District students (including incoming kindergartners) are eligible. Visit the District's Summer Programming website to learn more. Register now – seats are limited and enrollment is not guaranteed. Most programs opened for registration on, April 7th, on a rolling basis. Enrollment notifications will be sent by mid-June.

Philadelphia High School for Girls recently hosted a heartwarming Mother, Daughter, Father Breakfast that fostered community and connection. Family Engagement Liaison, Rasheeda Polk, led an engaging School Advisory Council (SAC) information session, successfully recruiting parents for the 2025-26 SAC and gathering valuable feedback for the Philly School Experience: Parent and Guardian Survey. The day was filled with food, dancing, giveaways, and joyful interactions among students, staff, and families.

Heston Elementary recently held a wonderful Parent & Guardian Appreciation Breakfast, a truly special event dedicated to celebrating our amazing families! Hosted by Family Engagement Liaison Bridgette Holmes in collaboration with Heston's administrative staff, the breakfast was a fantastic opportunity for parents and guardians to connect with one another, share experiences, and acknowledge the incredible strides they've made in engaging their families and youth. Attendees enjoyed a delicious meal and a warm atmosphere of camaraderie and mutual support. PA Treasury offers several opportunities for financial empowerment through PA Consumer Programs:

  • PA529 College & Career Savings Program – a savings program designed to help PA families steadily and strategically save for future educational expenses. 
  • PA ABLE - a tax-free way for PA residents with disabilities, and their families, to save for future qualified expenses all while maintaining access to important benefits. 
  • Keystone Scholars – jumpstarts educational savings by providing an automatic, at-birth $100 investment for every child born to a PA family on or after January 1, 2019.
  • Unclaimed Property – Treasury receives hundreds of millions of dollars in unclaimed property each year. One in 10 PA residents has unclaimed property and the average claim is $1,600. Search online to find out if you, or your organization, has property with Treasury.

CEO BenePhilly and Clarifi - New Partnership to Address Benefits Access

The City of Philadelphia launched the BenePhilly Helpline at Clarifi to simplify access to public benefits like SNAP and LIHEAP. The free hotline connects residents to five BenePhilly Centers citywide, streamlining intake and referrals. This initiative, by the Mayor's Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity (CEO) and Clarifi, aims to address unclaimed benefits and improve access for vulnerable Philadelphians, especially after the closure of Benefits Data Trust. Free Summer Meals for Philly Youth Kick Off June 18th at Vare Rec!

Every summer, Philadelphia youth can enjoy FREE meals and snacks while school is out! Join us on Wednesday, June 18, from 11 AM to 1 PM at Vare Recreation Center (2601 Moore St., Philadelphia, PA 19145) for a Summer Meals Kick-Off Celebration in partnership with the Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and the American Dairy Association Northeast.

This summer, Fox Chase Library is hosting the Eagles Eye Mobile, powered by Vision to Learn.
