Guest Leader Column
Banned Books Week
is upon us—one of the times of the year where librarians educate our populations about censorship and the freedom to read. Interestingly, in the current climate, there have been calls to ban books based not on their content, but on the character of the authors of the books.

Powerful Part-time Staff at ILF
We welcome
Mandy Rentschler
(pictured at left) as our new ILF Events Manager. Mandy left
Indianapolis Public Library events
four years ago to build her own event and brand management company, which she will continue. Mandy also serves as adjunct faculty in the IUPUI Tourism and Events program.
Megan Zanto
will transition to the Member Engagement Manager. Megan started with ILF in 2014 in member services and accepted the challenge of conference management during the staff transition in 2016. Under Megan's leadership, we have improved net revenues and the quality of professional development while keeping costs affordable for members.
Members: look for upcoming opportunities to engage in divisions and with ILF special projects.
We are working to elevate the member experience as a part of our strategic vision.
For those who are counting, this brings our paid staffing up to 3.2 full-time equivalents. ILF is achieving more with the right mix of
highly skilled staff.
