The power of advocates:
Response to an op-ed piece in Forbes
On July 21, library lovers around the country reacted en masse to an opinion piece posted on Forbes online. (We are not linking here to avoid giving any more attention.) Reaction was so strongly against that Forbes removed the post within hours and later posted "
The Librarian and the Astrophysicist
" by Brian Koberlein. The experience underscores the importance of strong library advocates.

Preliminary Status Report on
Indiana's School Libraries
Thanks to the hundreds of volunteers who helped us document the staffing and features of Indiana's school libraries. We are seeking feedback of the internal draft report before we finalize it for public release. See Guest Leader Column above for the link.
As your state library association, we aim to use the what we learned in future communications, professional development, member outreach and advocacy for school libraries and school librarians, as well as in cross-sector collaborations.
