If you needed one word to describe Folklorama - One Unified Virtual Experience. One Multi-Cultural Fusion Event, presented by Manitoba Liquor Marts, it would have to be: extraordinary! The coming together of cultures across Manitoba revived the celebration of diversity, not only across the city, but internationally as well!
In this month's edition of Llama Tales, we're sharing highlights from the three day festival, the winner of the 50/50 raffle, the Mark & Dorothy Danzker Scholarship winners, stories from the community, upcoming member events, and more!

2021 Folklorama Fusion - a year unlike any other!
The Folklorama Festival was reimagined to engage and delight while celebrating diversity, despite being unable to pavilion hop and gather in person. The festival morphed into a 3-day virtual event where our communities came together to celebrate their cultures. The performances streamed live on our YouTube and Facebook page, and in True North Square! The shows are accessible online across Canada and the world.

Over the course of the three nights, 189 Manitobans were able to share their culture and perform on stage for the first time since the pandemic!
The three nights of ethno-cultural performances have a viewership of over 25,000 - pretty great for a beautiful August weekend!

There were 18 restaurants who participated in our first-ever Ethno-Cultural Food Week!
Winnipegers supported these local establishments and filled their tummies with delicious food all week long! Especially during the Folklorama Fusion shows!

Our 4 fantastic Ambassadors General Jan, Vivian, Calvin and Donovan were busy on stage kicking off each night, taking over the Folklorama Instagram to share behind the scenes content, and interviewing performers about the importance of sharing culture! Stay tuned on social media for these behind the scenes interviews!
