2019 marks the 50
th
edition of the Folklorama Festival! It’s pretty amazing to reflect back on the moments, stories, memories, and joy that the Festival has brought to hundreds of thousands of patrons, visitors and volunteers!
The first Folklorama Festival took place in celebration of Manitoba’s centennial in 1970, and at that time it was intended as a one-time event, but decades later we are proud to say we are the world’s largest and longest-running multi-cultural Festival.
We have a lot planned this anniversary year including the kick off party to our golden anniversary, "THE GREAT MANITOBA SOCIAL" sponsored by Pattison Outdoor Inc., at the RBC Convention Centre on Saturday, March 16 from 8 pm to 1 am. Learn more

We are looking for volunteers to take shifts either from 7:30 pm-10:30 pm or from 9:30 pm-12:00 am.
These shifts are scheduled so you will have time either before or after to enjoy the social!

Be a part of our 50
th
edition of the Folklorama Travel Guide and reach the tens of thousands of people who attend the Folklorama Festival by booking an a advertisement highlighting your business or organization.
110,000 Travel Guides are printed and distributed across Winnipeg and Manitoba, to a robust network of 20,000 Folklorama volunteers, and reaches over 1.2 million website visitors (between June-August 2018).
Booking deadline is Tuesday, April 2.

Mark & Dorothy Danzker Scholarship for Excellence Opportunity!
|
On behalf of the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba, Folklorama is pleased to announce the 2019 Mark & Dorothy Danzker Scholarship for Excellence. This is an annual award of excellence for ethno-cultural heritage preservation.
There are five post-secondary scholarships of $1,000 each and one post-graduate scholarship of $2,500.
Applications are due on Tuesday, April 30.
All applications may be submitted in-person or by mail to the Folklorama office (2nd floor - 183 Kennedy St., R3C 1S6, Winnipeg, MB).

Share the Magic Book Program: Family Literacy Fun Day & Fundraiser

What's happening?:
Share the Magic Book Program is a CRA registered charity, which aims to increase literacy levels in low income populations. The Program collects new and gently-used books for give away, free of charge, in Manitoba communities that do not have many books. Folklorama Talent is very excited to provide entertainment and be a part of this family fun day and fundraiser!
