Thursday in Ecuador journey

Today sadness and joy circled the celebrations in Pajal and San Pablo lago. We were saying good bye and dedicating our work to the glory of God.

Pastor Carmita made a masterful display on the front of the sanctuary depicting the work of the people in the community.

Thanks to the cooperation between global mission partners from the United Church of Christ, $10,000 was donated for construction projects and paint.

$2,000 was gifted by the Disciples of Christ group for pharmacy items and school supplies for children in the day care.

Then came the over and above gifts: the special art created by the children, books on first aid, and lots of toys for the little ones.

Hugs, speeches, a few tears of joy. and a mountain of photo opportunities filled the porch of the day care center,

Of course there was dance. The kids dressed in Ecuadorian outfits danced a traditional circle dance. Ecuadorian dances are a vibrant reflection of the country's diverse geography, blending Indigenous Andean roots with African and European influences.

After the celebration, we loaded the bus for the staging area for our early morning flights back to the United States.

  • It was a great day
  • It was a great Minga
  • It was a great partnership

Now we are ready, like Moses coming down from the mountain, to tell our story of seeing God in the work of FEDICE.
