Attention Res I Homeowners
To date, the Association has received 11 written comments opposing the proposed trash rule change and 6 written comments in support. While much of the discussion on Next Door appears to be driven by those opposed to the change, it's important to note that the Board of Directors considers feedback submitted by Res I Homeowners in response to the Association’s official request for comments.
Homeowners are encouraged to share their input in writing via email at reply@pgawest.org, by mail to 54-320 Southern Hills, La Quinta, CA 92253, or by participating in person or via Zoom during the Board of Directors meeting scheduled for July 31, 2025.
Please understand that the intent of the proposed change to the PGA WEST Residential Association, Inc. Trash Rules is to enhance community aesthetics by ensuring that trash, recycling, and organic waste containers do not detract from the look and feel of the community (and does not preclude use of alcoves originally designed for this purpose). Contrary to some commentary, the proposed rule does not require the installation of opaque screens.
This is a proposal, not a final rule, which seeks community input critical to finding a correct balance between convenience and appearance.
