Today starts phase 1 of Eagle County's plan for sustaining social distance public health order . Read the entire order to make sure you are complying with the updates if you are looking to reopen your business. Not following the guidelines could result in Eagle County discontinuing the phasing out of restrictions.

In summary the changes in the new order include, but are not limited to:

  • Allows gatherings of up to 10 people, as long as social distancing requirements are met.
  • Allows some outdoor recreational facilities to reopen.
  • Restricts short-term lodging operations, except if necessary for an essential service or business, for emergency purposes or for medical care.
  • It allows more businesses to open in addition to previously allowed essential businesses, as long as the business can meet the requirements of the order. All businesses must create and visibly post a Social Distancing Protocol, explaining how the business is achieving all social distancing, sanitizing and cleaning, and other requirements.
  • Limits travel into or around Eagle County to local residents only. "Local residents" are defined as persons who own, maintain, or live in a home or residence in Eagle County.

As the real estate community, it is very important that we take this seriously and commit to following these guidelines. It is great to see that we have gotten to the point to loosen restrictions, and we want to make sure we continue to follow the guidelines.

These five tips are best practices for working with your clients:
  1. Start by viewing houses virtually with 360-degree tours, virtual chats etc.
  2. Limit in-person showings, and never go to a showing if you have any signs of illness.
  3. Follow social distancing best practices during showings: Only bring decision-makers, refrain from touching anything, keep six feet between people, sanitize your hands before and after entering a home, and drive in a car separate from your clients.
  4. Use electronic documents, CTMContracts, RON
  5. Use the COVID-19 addendum if you run into delays during the process.
