Dear Tory,
Peace and Greetings to you as we continue our journey in this season of LENT!
We enter this Sunday into the fourth Sunday of Lent, which is traditionally known as Lartare Sunday. It’s that Sunday when ministers or priests get to wear “pink” or, as all the butch masculine ministers or priests will correct you and say it’s “coral.” We also continue in our Lenten/Easter series titled IMAGINE. As we draw closer to the of our journey to the cross, we will be Imagine a World Where Everyone is Welcome.
Our Lenten Season sermon series: following the question continues this week and I invite you to join me this Sunday, March 19th at 11:00AM, for worship at Milwaukee Metropolitan Community Church, where you are welcome just as you are! Power, Prestige, Popularity, Money, and Comfort are all things that people equate with "Success" in life, but Jesus shows us that a life successfully lived is a life marked by servant hearted love. How does knowing Jesus challenge your idea of success? Join us Sunday, as our series continues, and as we ask the next question: “WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE?”
Our 40-Day Lenten Offering Challenge continues, and you’re invited to join the challenge during this Lenten Season. If you haven’t started, you can still join in. Details are below on how you can partake in this year’s offering challenge. Also, Easter is right around the corner, and order are now being taken for Easter Flowers in honor or memory of your loved ones. Information on this can also be found below.
REMEMBER to join us following worship THIS Sunday at 12:30 for Brunch with the Pastor. Come as we gather for Sunday brunch, fellowship and good conversation. Details can be found further down in this Weekly!
Virtual worship can continue be found on our Facebook and YouTube pages, in the later part of the afternoon on Sundays. We ask that you keep watch on these pages for when worship has been uploaded. Due to the high traffic on internet usage on Sundays, and now that all faith communities have started returning to in-person worship, uploads have been taking longer than expected.
As always, I Invite you to take a moment to scroll down to view these announcements and the many other special announcements, connected to the life of our congregation and community, as we continue to be the vibrant, inclusive, and progressive community of faith that we are.
May God’s blessings continue to be with
each of you!
In Christ,

Scripture: Matthew 2:1-12
Jesus came back to Capernaum after several days, and word spread that he was home. People began to gather in such great numbers that there was no longer any room for them, even around the door. While Jesus was delivering God’s word to them, some people arrived bringing a paralyzed person. The four who carried the invalid were unable to reach Jesus because of the crowd, so they began to open up the roof directly above Jesus. When they had made a hole, they lowered the mat on which the paralyzed one was lying. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the sufferer, “My child, your sins are forgiven.” Now some of the religious scholars were sitting there asking themselves, “Why does Jesus talk in that way? He commits blasphemy! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” Jesus immediately perceived in his spirit that they reasoned this way among themselves and said to them, “Why do you harbor such thoughts? Which is easier, to say to this paralyzed person, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Stand up, pick up your mat and walk’? But so you all may know that the Promised One has authority on earth to forgive sins—” Jesus then turned to the paralyzed person — “I tell you, stand up! Pick up your mat and go home.” The paralyzed person stood up, picked up the mat and walked outside in the sight of everyone. They were awe-struck, and they all gave praise to God and said,
“We have never seen anything like this!”
