Old Canton Road Clean Up Continues - Rain or Shine, the volunteers show up!

In spite of a rainy start to the morning, Fondre n volunteers showed up on October 26th to tackle another stretch of Old Canton Road near Kings Highway. Limbs were trimmed, drains were cleared and leaves/pine straw/debris was bagged.

Accepting applications for Cedars'
2020 Artist-in-Residence program

FRF is seeking an Artist in Residence for 2020 to foster our creative endeavors at The Cedars.

The successful candidate will be given 10 days at The Cedars for classes, workshops and showings, as well as given exclusive gallery space in between scheduled gallery shows during 2020 and a commission rate of 60% on all sales. A stipend of $500 is included.

A special reception for the Artist in Residence will be scheduled at the artist's convenience. And, the artist will receive special recognition on fondren.org .

Preference will be given to Jackson area artists who work in a variety of mediums.

The 2020 Artist-in-Residence will be announced in mid-December. Apply before December 1, 2019.
Fondren Unwrapped Nov 14

The merchants of Fondren invite you to their holiday open house, Fondren Unwrapped, on Thursday, November 14, 5 - 8 p.m.

Stroll the district and enjoy holiday treats and decorations. Have your cell phones ready for Selfies with Santa and his Cat, and Selfies with Elfies !

Park your car and use our Rudolf Express to tour the district.

Two Fondrenites on Millsaps stage

Writer Richard Grant and journalist David Hampton , both residents of Fondren, will participate in the Millsaps Arts and Lecture Writers Panel: Delta Characters and the Place that Created Them. The program will begin at 7 p.m., November 12 in the Gertrude C. Ford Academic Complex Recital Hall at Millsaps. Admission is $10. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
Wyatt Waters leads workshop for 15 high school students in honor of Frances Anne Fortner.
