Food 4 Kids will be distributing meals to more than 1,000 children/teens on the lower/outer Cape from June 29 - August 28 this summer.
Because of the increased number of meals this year, we have needed to turn to staff using cargo vans to cover most of our routes.
However, we are looking for 12 volunteers - 3 for
each
day, Monday through Thursday, to drive the round trip from Nauset Regional Middle School, Orleans to Stony Brook Elementary School, Brewster AND back to Nauset Middle School, approximately 5 miles each way
.
We find it works best if you sign up to drive the same day of the week every week of the summer - every Monday, for example. If there are 1 or 2 dates for your chosen day when you know you cannot drive, just let us know when you sign up and we will find a substitute.
The safety of all is our primary concern this summer. Many of us on the Cape are in good health, but still fall into the "at risk" categories.
Please volunteer only if you truly feel this is something you are comfortable doing this summer.
