Advocacy and Research

Advocacy in action and research: Access to epinephrine

Whether anaphylaxis happens at school, in a community setting, or somewhere else in public, having epinephrine readily available can be critical in the minutes before emergency medical help arrives.

Recent research shows how legislation can improve access in schools, while new national polling shows strong public support for making life-saving treatments available in public spaces.

These findings strengthen our advocacy efforts on ensuring epinephrine is accessible wherever people learn, work, and gather.

Advocacy in action: Making food allergy a priority in foodservice

This month, we made significant strides for the food allergy community at the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI) National Conference.

Our efforts this year are helping to shape a safer foodservice landscape, ensuring Canadians with food allergy can eat out with confidence.

Participate in research: Take part in an international allergy and asthma survey

Are you 16-25 or a parent of a child aged 11-25 with allergic conditions or asthma? Complete a 10-15min survey!

Researchers are aiming to better understand young people’s experiences during the transition from paediatric care to adult allergy and asthma care.

Your input can help identify what’s working well, what could be improved, and where additional support may be needed.

Mythbuster: Can Benadryl® be used instead of epinephrine to treat anaphylaxis?
