Dear Trinity Episcopal Church,

This week as we watch the news and see the headlines, I want to commend Trinity for your response to those in need, especially for those impacted by the SNAP crisis. As we learn more and more about what these next few weeks look like for our community, I am thankful to see our church embrace the challenges ahead. This week's lectionary reading invites us to look up and recognize what is important to God and God's desire for us. I have witnessed this community look up and help our partners at St. Vincent's and different resource groups throughout Galveston, it is a blessing to be a part of it.

This week I invite you to hear what God is calling us to do in our lives, take a moment to breathe and pray, allowing the Spirit to guide you.

In Christ,

Chase

All Saints' Day Requiem Concert

Job well done to the combined choirs of Trinity Episcopal Church and Moody Memorial First United Methodist Church. The Requiem concert last Sunday was breathtaking. Kudo's to our Joseph Painter, Director of Music and Choir Director; and to Tracy Shirk, Director of Music at MMFUMC.

Children's Chapel

Children’s Chapel is held during the Sunday 10:30 a.m. service each week, and welcomes children, ages 4 through 5th grade. Children should remain in the sanctuary until the processional hymn and watch for the director of Children's Ministries to walk down the center aisle. At that time children may join her and walk to the Children's Chapel located on the cloister. Children’s Chapel is led by two Safeguard-trained adults. At the Peace, children will be brought back to their families in time for Holy Communion.

WINTER BOOK CLUB

“Say it to God: In Search of Prayer”

Beginning Wednesday November 12,

4:30 p.m. Kelso Room

"Say it to God: In Search of Prayer." The author, Luigi Gioia, is a former Roman Catholic monk and is now a priest in the Episcopal Church. He had a very powerful presentation at our clergy conference, and this book will be more spiritual in nature (rather than historical or academic).

We will next gather on Wednesday, November 12 at 4:30pm. We'll cover the first five chapters (they're short): "Blessed Crisis" through "Saving Time." We'll meet on November 12, 19, December 3, 10, and 17 (skipping the Wednesday before Thanksgiving Day).
