Dear Ones,

I'll be on vacation next week from Monday, June 9 - Saturday, June 14, but there's a few quick notes to be aware of as I prep to be away:

This Sunday is Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came to be among us. Wear RED to celebrate with us!
Happy Pride! Though AZ does Pride celebrations in October when it's (theoretically) cooler, we join the rest of the nation in celebrating authenticity, love, and freedom to be who we are. And we stand with those in the transgender community who are suffering so much targeting lately. We are all of us fearfully and wonderfully made by God!
The Re-Humanization Project is hosting a special July 4 Vigil called Prayers for our Nation at 4pm. Since folks will be off work, and the grill won't need to be fired up quite yet, we hope you'll join us to pray for our leaders, and for all of our country in these turbulent times. Mark your calendar!
We're still looking for sound volunteers so we can build a rotation of volunteers to assure we can all hear the services each Sunday! Your help is much needed so prayerfully discern if you could join the mission!
Our Bishop's Official Visitation will occur on June 15 at both services. We will have a joint coffee hour with an "Ask the Bishop" time at 10am - I hope you'll come and take part!

Estaré de vacaciones la próxima semana desde el lunes 9 de junio hasta el sábado 14 de junio, pero hay algunas notas rápidas para tener en cuenta mientras me preparo para estar lejos:

Este domingo es Pentecostés, cuando el Espíritu Santo vino a estar entre nosotros. ¡Vístete de ROJO para celebrarlo con nosotros!
¡Feliz Orgullo! Aunque AZ hace celebraciones del Orgullo en octubre cuando es (teóricamente) más fresco, nos unimos al resto de la nación en la celebración de la autenticidad, el amor y la libertad de ser lo que somos. Y estamos con aquellos en la comunidad transgénero que están sufriendo tanto últimamente. Dios nos ha hecho a todos temerosos y maravillosos.
El Proyecto de Re-Humanización organiza una vigilia especial el 4 de julio llamada Oraciones por nuestra Nación a las 4pm. Dado que la gente no trabajará y no será necesario encender la parrilla todavía, esperamos que te unas a nosotros para rezar por nuestros líderes y por todo nuestro país en estos tiempos turbulentos. ¡Marque su calendario!
¡Todavía estamos buscando voluntarios de sonido para que podamos construir una rotación de voluntarios para asegurar que todos podamos escuchar los servicios de cada domingo! ¡Tu ayuda es muy necesaria así que discierne en oración si podrías unirte a la misión!
La Visita Oficial de Nuestro Obispo ocurrirá el 15 de junio en ambos servicios. Tendremos una hora de café conjunta con un tiempo de «Pregúntele al Obispo» a las 10am - ¡Espero que venga y participe!

The RE-Humanization Project invites you!

Plan to be part of the June 14 rally happening at the Capitol in support of our Constitutional rights and responsibilities. You can gather with folks at Trinity and travel to the event together. Gather at 8am and bring your water, hat, and sign!
Prayers for our Nation will be on July 4 at 4pm - a prayer vigil for our country's leaders and for all of us who call America home. Our prayers matter. Join us in person or online.

Our next Re-Humanization meetings will be July 6 and Aug 3.

Survey Update!

The dean search committee is grateful to you for your participation in the parish survey in May. You truly came through with your insight and clarity, giving us the data and understanding of what is most important to you as a congregation. During the summer, we will develop the parish profile using your feedback to tell the story of who we are today. Fun fact: Trinity Cathedral parishioners live in 35 zip codes, stretching across the Valley, from Anthem to as far south as Maricopa. This reflects the diversity and broad outreach of our growing community.

Sound Volunteers Needed!

With the departure of our long time sound technician, Cliff, we are looking to build a rotation of volunteers who would serve once a month at the sound board. Training and a manual will be provided. To learn more, speak to Deacon Michael! Thank you for your help in advance!

Donations to Nourish PHX during June

We are doing a big push to help our ministry partner NourishPHX this month who has lost substantial funding recently. Much needed items are: canned meats, beans (dry or canned), pasta and sauce, PB&J, canned fruits or vegetables (low-sodium please!), rice, and Mac & Cheese. Bring to the bins in Olney Gallery all month long! Thanks!

The art show this summer is “The Bees Knees,” “Aces,” “Swell,” “Neato,” “Far Out,” “Gnarly,” “Awesome,” “Hot,” and “Lit.” Feel free to choose the adjective from your youth!

Our summer exhibit in the Olney Gallery is a photographic and artistic history of our beloved Cathedral, as well as some of the people who worshipped here.

Prayers of the People

Oración de los Fieles

We pray for peace,

for goodwill among nations, and for the well-being of all people. We pray for our President and for the Congress, the Cabinet, and the Supreme Court. We pray for justice and peace, particularly in Gaza and in Ukraine.

We ask your prayers for the poor,

the sick, the hungry, the oppressed, and those in prison, particularly those who are being removed from this country without due process.

We commend to your mercy all who have died, that your will for them may be fulfilled; and we pray that we may share with all your saints in your eternal kingdom.

We pray for: Jeff, Surya, Gloria, Karl, Jonathan, Eve, Charles, Alison, Linnea.

We give thanks for those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries this week.

Oremos para la paz,

por la buena voluntad de naciones, y para el bienestar de todos pueblos. Rezamos por nuestro Presidente y por el Congreso, el Gabinete y el Tribunal Supremo. Rezamos por la justicia y la paz, especialmente en Gaza y Ucrania.

Pedimos tus oraciones para los con recursos limitados,

los enfermos, los que faltan comida, víctimas de opresión, y los encarcelados, especialmente a los que están siendo expulsados de este país sin el debido proceso.
