The Columbia County Food Bank has been receiving assistance from the National Guard in filling, loading, and distributing boxes of food at the Fairgrounds each Tuesday. Our local food pantry usually serves 40 families a week. For the past two months we've been serving 150 families per week.

The assistance from the National Guard will cease at the end of June. Food will still come from Walla Walla on a truck, and we need 10 volunteers each Tuesday who are not in the COVID-19 high-risk age group to help fill, load, and distribute boxes. June will be training month, and we will take duties back over from the National Guard in July. PLEASE consider volunteering your time.

WHEN: Every Tuesday from 1 - 4 PM starting today. Food is delivered and boxes are filled at 1:00, Columbia County Transportation comes for boxes to take to Starbuck at 1:30, public comes for boxes between 2:00 and 4:00. It is a drive-thru food bank at the moment. June will be training month so please come learn!
