Hello, my friends,

This week is the annual Diocesan Convention. It will be a Zoom gathering inspired by the theme, “Servants of the Spirit.” The convention will be all day on Saturday, the 14th, and will conclude on Sunday, the 15th with a 10:00 am on-line Eucharist for the whole diocese, giving our production team and musicians a much-needed weekend off! I have been on retreat this week, returning in time for the Convention. It is a busy time as we head toward the holidays.

Don't miss the Diocesan on-line service on Sunday - the sermon is by a wonderful guest preacher - see below.

Here are some of the latest plans for other services and fellowship in these weeks leading up to Advent!

Please text - 310-995-6519 - or email Paula+ to register for all the following services and events. We need your reservations for contact tracing if needed.

This Sunday, November 15th
  • 9:00 am - outdoor Eucharist under the arches at church. No live-streaming.

  • 10:00 am - Diocese on-line Eucharist ending the Convention, celebrated by Bishop John Taylor, via the diocesan Facebook page, Bishop Taylor's Facebook page, or the diocesan YouTube channel, http://ow.ly/bVXa50BvHNq. The sermon will be given by a wonderful guest preacher - The Rev. Canon Stephanie Spellers - who is Canon to our Presiding Bishop - Michael Curry. Read more about Canon Spellers here.

Thank you for your continuing love and support of St Francis.

Please remember - on campus, you must wear a face mask covering your mouth and nose, and keep 6 (yes SIX!) feet distance from people not in your household, at all times. If you have a cough or do not feel well then take care of yourself and stay at home.
At 6' your outstretched arms should have several inches of space between fingertips.

Military Outreach - Thank You!
A big thank you to all who came and donated. We packed 50 boxes!!
Our volunteers packed together safely, and endured some windy weather, but no rain! We thank those who pray for the military, who made cards, who dropped off items, who packed safely, and those who donated postage! We could never have done this without you. May our military know that we will never forget them where ever they serve. We thank them for their service 🇺🇸. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Next packing is March (GS cookie time! save some cookies ).
Be together - 5 days a week, as well as Sundays.
Morning prayer twice-weekly, led by Paula+, and Compline three times per week, led by Jude+ and a team of lay leaders. Each service includes the traditional service, plus words from the leader, and explanations of the readings. They are prayerful and quiet, a far cry from the turmoil of the world, and medicine to help us heal and be comforted and inspired.
