TO BENEFIT 80 CHILDREN ON THE BACKPACK PROGRAM

AT THE CHITTICK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN HYDE PARK

WHAT IS THE BACKPACK PROGRAM? To avoid food insecurity over the weekend, Rose’s Bounty initiated this program to provide a backpack full of food for weekend meals.

Our goal is to collect 80 of the following items, and to help us reach this goal we have divided the items up by grade. Families are welcome to donate multiple of a particular item or more that one item.

Needed for Recipes - (80 is needed so each child has a bag of the same items)

Grade 6: Instant Potatoes

Grade 5: Gravy Packets

Grade 3 & 4: Taco Kits and/or taco seasoning packets

Grades 1 & 2: Jiffy Pie Crust Mixes

K2: Cookie Mixes

Nursery & K1: Jiffy Muffin Mixes

Other suggested items, if you would like to make an additional donation:

• Kid-friendly snacks (Goldfish, granola bars, Pop-tarts, cereal bars, Rice Krispies Treats, Cheez It, etc.…)
• Halloween candy (Rose’s Bounty will distribute)
• Peanut butter, jelly, Fluff
• Condiments
