As you know, the NYC Hospitality Alliance has been advocating to safely eliminate and modify certain restaurant and bar restrictions.
Today, we applaud the NYS Senate for its move to repeal the executive order requiring that a “food item” be sold with alcoholic beverages at restaurants and bars. Following this announcement, the governor’s office issued a statement saying that lifting this Covid-19 restriction was something they were in the process of eliminating in the coming days. When the repeal is official, we will alert you.
This repeal is common sense and is a step in the right direction, but we need to also responsibly loosen other business restrictions like removing the ban on barstools that prohibits customers from sitting at a bar, and modify the midnight curfew, which pushes people from regulated restaurants and bars into unregulated homes and underground events.
The NYC Hospitality Alliance will keep you informed and we will keep fighting for you.
