SFCR Updates Requirements and Guidance on Licensing for Sector-Specific Scenarios

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has updated the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR) guidance regarding licensing for the industry. Updates to the CFIA guidance documents were made to: (1) Selling food to consumers at retail (section 5.1) , (2) Restaurants and other food service operators (section 5.2) , (3) Storing of food (section 5.4) , (4) Food to be used as grain, oil, pulse, sugar or beverage (section 5.9) , (5) Honey (5.20) , (6) Maple Syrup (5.21) , and (7) Licensing requirements for fresh fruit and vegetables (Annex 1) .
