Free Live Music
There's no charge to attend the event, other than the food you purchase. Enjoy live music, lots of grass and shade, plenty of free parking, a large playground for the kiddos and train rides as well. It's a great family event for locals and out of town guests. Relax in the park, bring your lawn chairs and a blanket and let us do the cooking for you!
Food Truck Friday runs 4 to 9 p.m. Fridays, May 17 through Sept. 27, in Idlewild Park in Reno.
Idlewild Park is just a short 1.5 miles southwest of downtown Reno.
What began mainly as pizza, barbecue and burgers flourishes today with vegan burritos and Hawaiian plate lunch, Cajun chicken strips and artisan waffles, Vietnamese summer rolls and margaritas on tap and wings in a dozen fashion flavors.
And, yes, with pizza, barbecue and burgers.
When Food Truck Friday began in 2012, only a handful of trucks offered meals on wheels. This year, the gathering will feature trucks, trailers, pop-ups, desserts and beverages - a rotating mix of nearly 65 vendors in all - with up to 40 appearing in any given week.
In 2018, Food Truck Friday spanned 20 evenings, with an average of 35 food and drink vendors each week, and with more than $2.1 million in total gross sales.
