Food Shortages Real Possibility in 2022
Consumers are already seeing empty shelves in certain areas of the US due to the ongoing supply chain implications of the pandemic on labor shortages, food processing, manufacturing, and delivery; and now, with the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine consumers and industries alike know the situation will only grow worse especially after President Biden made it clear Americans need to brace for food shortages this year. And with rising inflation, it’s a trifecta.

US Foods®, one of the America’s largest food companies and a leading foodservice distributor, recently launched Spring ScoopTM – its “do more with less” campaign targeting operators facing continued labor and operational challenges. Spring Scoop offers products designed to help operators expand menu offerings and maximize labor costs and inventory efficiencies.
