FOR ALL THE SAINTS
NOVEMBER 18, 2021
THE ALL SAINTS HANDBELL ENSEMBLE WILL BE RINGING FOR CHRIST THE KING THIS SUNDAY!
As the church year comes to a close and we celebrate Christ the King Sunday, our dedicated handbell ensemble will join us in worship at 10am to 'ring out the old' so we can 'welcome the new' next Sunday when Advent arrives. They'll be ringing uplifting arrangements of familiar hymntunes for six ringers.  And immediately following worship, everyone of all ages is invite to come up and try ringing the variety of bells we have.  Gloves will be provided.

Ever thought about learning how to ring? If you read rhythms a bit, then YOU can do it, and we're looking for new ringers. Come up to the bell tables after 10 am worship, and our bell ringers will be happy to show anyone--of any age--how to ring, as well as the different handbell strokes for ringing, the important parts of the bell, and much more!  Join us for the 'handbell petting zoo' THIS SUNDAY!
ALL SAINTS CHRISTMAS PAGEANT RETURNS THIS CHRISTMAS EVE! SHEPHERDS, SHEEP, AND ANGELS NEEDED! SIGN UP THIS SUNDAY!
After being cancelled due to COVID last year, the wonderful ALL SAINTS CHILDREN'S PAGEANT IS FINALLY RETURNING THIS YEAR! All children who would like to participate in our Christmas Pageant at the 5pm Christmas Eve service this year, can sign up on the sign up sheets in the Parish Hall, beginning THIS SUNDAY, and report to the Parish Hall on Sunday, November 28th at 10am for our first pageant meeting with the children only (Hillary will lead the children to the Sanctuary from the Parish Hall for our first walk-through).

Pageant Rehearsal dates are December 5th, 12th, and 19th during the Christian Formation hour, from 9:30am to 10:15am. Children will be brought back to the Parish Hall after rehearsal at 10:15 to meet their parents. It is very important that all participants come to rehearsal.

If you have any question, please email Hillary Citrano, Pageant Director and Personal Assistant to St. Nicholas!
BREAKFAST IS SERVED: THIS SUNDAY IN THE PARISH HALL, STARTING AT 9AM!
As vaccination & booster numbers continue to climb and COVID numbers continue to go down in Jacksonville, All Saints is moving forward in our next phase to get back to a "new normal" on Sunday mornings at the church.

The Men's Breakfast Crew, for the first time since February 2020, is back rolling out the breakfast buffet in the Parish Hall at 9am every Sunday, offering eggs, biscuits, bacon, sausages, and other "healthy" breakfast items. You can either grab a breakfast plate and eat inside the Parish Hall, or, if the weather is right, you can get your breakfast and find a spot outside.

Whichever way you choose, we hope you'll come back to church for breakfast THIS SUNDAY, beginning at 9am, in the Parish Hall!
ALL SAINTS' WORSHIP & SUNDAY SCHOOL TIMES RETURN TO 'PRE-PANDEMIC' SCHEDULE: BEGINNING NEXT SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 28TH!
On the First Sunday of Advent, Sunday, November 28th, All Saints will be bringing back SUNDAY SCHOOL & ADULT CHRISTIAN FORMATION on Sunday mornings, as well as RETURNING TO 10:30AM for our second Holy Eucharist Worship Service. Our Christian Formation Director, Hillary Citrano, is working on Sunday School offerings for youth, and Fr. Donavan & Mtr. Sarah are planning for an Adult Christian Formation Advent class. Both will kick off with the return of the Family Advent Wreath Event at 9:20am on Sunday, November 28th.

And in order to bring back our Sunday School classes and keep breakfast at 9am, our second worship service will return to its original 10:30am start time each Sunday. This was All Saints' worship time for decades prior to the pandemic, and we are very excited to "get back to our new normal" and worship again each Sunday at 10:30am beginning this Advent.

All Saints will continue to offer our online Live Streaming on the All Saints YouTube Channel for the foreseeable future, but please note it also will be moved to a 10:30am start time on November 28th.
ALL SAINTS NURSERY REOPENS NEXT SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 28TH!
We are pleased to announce that on November 28th, the same Sunday that Christian Formation restarts and the 10am service moves to 10:30, the All Saints Nursery will reopen! Each Sunday beginning at 9:30am and lasting until the 10:30am service is concluded, the nursery will be open for infants 6 weeks and older all the way up until age 3. Please bring diapers if needed and a change of clothes, and when you sign in, leave your cellphone number in case the nursery attendant needs to text you.

November 28th will also be the first Sunday we return to our Children's Chapel offering following the sermon on Sunday mornings during the 10:30am service. As All Saints did before the pandemic began, children ages 3 to 9 will be invited up to the front of the church after the Gospel Reading, and after a short Children's Message given by one of the clergy, they will be invited to follow Mrs. Hillary for a special Children's Chapel in the CEB. The children will then return during the Peace, and be able to participate in Holy Communion.

THANK YOU, HILLARY CITRANO, OUR SAVING GRACE DURING THE PANDEMIC, WHO OFFERED A FULL, HOUR-LONG CHILDREN'S CHAPEL TO KEEP OUR CHILDREN SAFE AND SEPARATED OVER THE LAST YEAR! Now, with God's help, we can get back to having children in the church with their family, including them in a Children's Moment and a shorter Children's Chapel, and have them back in their rightful place as full members of the church for the Sacrament of Holy Communion!
Upcoming
THE SEASON OF ADVENT IS COMING!
Sunday, November 28th, is the first Sunday of the Advent season and the beginning of a new year in the Church!

With the start of Advent and the season's call to 'keep watch' and prepare the way of the Lord, there will be more than a few changes to our worship. We will be singing again a different Hymn of Praise, based on the ancient Greek Orthodox prayer known as the Trisagion, meaning "Thrice Holy." There will also be different but familiar liturgical music during Holy Communion and the Offertory Response, and for the recitation of the psalm, we will be returning to simplified Anglican Chant rather than a sung refrain or antiphon. Our dedicated and talented choir will be there to assist all of us to bring in the 'new year' and the changing liturgical season!

Also in honor of the holy season, we will begin again with All Saints' Annual Family Advent Wreath Making Event in the Parish Hall from 9:15am-10:15am! Everyone is invited to kick-off the season by bringing your family and making your own Advent wreath. All of the fresh greenery, supplies and craft items will be available, including Advent Blue and Pink candles. A love offering of $10 per kit is appreciated. All donations go to All Saints' Youth ministries!

Plan on kicking off the four weeks of Advent with Sunday worship at All Saints and with the All Saints' Family Wreath Making Event. Let us prepare ourselves again for the coming Incarnation of the Lord!
JOIN MOTHER SARAH ON ZOOM THIS ADVENT FOR COMPLINE ON THURSDAY EVENINGS, BEGINNING DECEMBER 2ND!
During the Season of Advent, we will offer the service of Compline every Thursday via Zoom at 8 PM, beginning on December 2nd. Compline is the last of four services in the Daily Office. It is descended from the night prayers said before bed at the end of the monastic round of daily prayer. Compline is a simple yet beautiful office, and the perfect way to end your day. Come pray with us every Thursday night this Advent!
PRAY THE ROSARY WITH FATHER DONAVAN EVERY FRIDAY AT 12:10pm STARTING DEC. 3RD
During the season of Advent, Fr. Donavan is inviting you to join him again in deepening your prayer life with the beads of the Rosary as we prepare ourselves for the coming of Christ! Fr. Donavan will open the church each Friday, beginning on December 3rd, at 12:10pm, for 20 to 30 minutes of praying the Rosary. Each Advent season calls us to prayer and preparation, and the Rosary can offer you a moving, tactile way to deepen your spirituality. Whether you've always prayed with Rosary beads or have never held a Rosary before, this is your opportunity to experience the ancient Christian practice of praying with beads. This year, the church will have plenty of Rosaries to give out to everyone who needs one, so you can bring your own or simply come into the church and pick one up.

Morning Prayer with Mtr. Sarah on Zoom!
Continuing THIS MONDAY at 8am and Changing to Rite I for Advent!
In many times and places, daybreak has been a time of prayer. Jews prayed in their synagogues at sunrise as well as at other times each day. This Jewish pattern of prayer formed the basis of the Christian monastic Daily Office, with its prayers or “hours” at seven times in each day. Thomas Cranmer’s revision of the Daily Office for the first English Prayer Book (1549) reduced the number of services to two - one for morning (Matins) and one for evening (Evensong or vespers). In the Second English Prayer Book (1552), the morning service was given its present name, Morning Prayer.

Mother Sarah would love for you to join her on Monday mornings at 8 AM via Zoom to pray the service of Morning Prayer from the Daily Office. What better way to start your week than a sweet reminder that your days belong to God and that you are never alone? Just open up your computer or smart phone, and click HERE to join. The meeting ID is 861 8284 3074 and the passcode to enter the Zoom meeting is 034101 Or just email Mother Sarah HERE for the Zoom invitation.
Come and be nourished with the Word of God and prayer!
